Why I Love Food!
I’m always a little biased when it comes to cooking and cuisine, that no one does it like my Mum (I’m British descent, and yes we say Mum)! Whether it’s the Holidays or one of the seven days of the week, she always whips up something incredible. And my father’s the grill king: grilling steaks, chops, salmon: you name it. When we were kids he used to make ‘World Famous Hotdogs’ (yes, middle class rocks) on Saturdays. Every kid in our neighborhood from about 10 blocks would congregate at our grill to get one. Whether it’s the hot dogs, the rack of lamb, the cheesecakes, the strawberry rhubarb pie or whatever else they make: I guess I owe much of my love for food to my folks. The cranberry brie mix (pictured above) was something cooked up by Mum as an afternoon appetizer during the holidays.
Mum makes her own wine as well, which she started doing 7 years ago, back in Niagara On The Lake, Canada (where they live). This wine, which is not yet available, ahem, I have given to several friends and enemies; all of whom have demanded another bottle. Although I am prying my Mum to go into the wine business, I think it’s going to be some time before it happens. Until that time, when you see me, ask for a bottle! You’ll know what I’m talking about after one sip! Cheers!
