Spaceship

I dreamed last night I was Captain of a spaceship traveling through the black starlit galaxy at a slow and steady pace. The spaceship was as big as a Carnaval cruise liner, yet it looked like a bullet metal container with a tiny cockpit window near the top. Through that tiny glass, in a red lit room full of consoles, I and my few co-pilots (I think there were 2 or 3 gathered) could see the entire galaxy before us.
Suddenly a puppy dog appeared in front of the ship floating in space. A cute, fluffy cocker spaniel with droopy adorable eyes was sitting in space, looking into the cockpit, staring straight at me, about 20 feet away. I felt it wanting to come in and my initial reaction was to open the glass window and reach out the to the cuddly animal and bring it inside.
One of my co-pilots grabbed my hand and stopped me. He warned it could be a trap and if I stepped outside we could get hi-jacked, and ultimately loose our spaceship. He told me that I needed to be patient and wait for the armada to arrive. I decided to wait for the rest of the fleet before opening the window to outer space and letting the adorable dog inside. The dog crossed it’s eyes in anger because I wasn’t doing what it wanted.
Sure enough a fleet of back-up ships arrived, surrounding my spaceship. I do not remember whether or not I ever let that dog inside. I just remember the feeling of possibly loosing the vessel which was taking me and the crew on a fantastic journey through the universe.
This is my prayer and my wish to you, and to all creative people: never ever let anything take away your spaceship.
